3rd Move Ellermanstraat

1988 - 1993: Married found appartment in Ellermanstreet. Atelier for my music instruments. Founding of band: "Irie Vibes featuring The Iries". pupose: Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica. Split after 6 months. Started homerecording studio, with synthesizers and midi. "Rainbow Arch Studio", with commercial dance hall 'n crossover with house & acid influences. Contacted by Bonsai Records to produce my music for their label. Blew international breakthru by stating I was against bonsai because it's mutilation of trees and cutting of roots. I was into uplifting music. Worked for more than a year with Birmingham based Rasta Carl Daniel. He called me "A hit wonder" en "Living Goldmine" and we exhanged riddims to have them recorded in the UK. After he returned to UK I tryed to become self supporting with my studio. I contatcted Creastars and other local based record companies but one company stole one of my riddims: "Woman Of My Dreams" became "Exotische Nachten" by Bé (VTM entourage). Two young ragga DJ's Daddy Iny & Tripy Fullwood recorded a voilent anti-gay song in my studio and I stopped all commercial (dance hall) activities and went back to the rastafarian roots music appr. round the same time as Garneth Silk.

fine arts 1991: behind glass paintings with rastafari iconography based on naïeve East European painting, Flemisch primitives and African forms. New graphic work. fine arts 1993: Antwerpen Culturele Hoofdstad van Europa: galery 'Recyclart': 150 early works in frames made of recycled plexi from displaycompany Metaplex. galerij/open atelier: "Recycl’Art".

A loan from de Belgische Staat to commercialise my music production studio, was refused.

Recyclart galery: 150 framed graphic works, objects from plexi leftovers, stereotowers and other furniture, small furniture in assemblage techniques, handprinted T-shirts, speakerboxes with hornconstructions, and an ironic line of Recyclart Mode. Even the models were found on the street! Nobody came to the opening of the galery. A local youthgang came to terrorise us for money, cassettes and just to nag us. My wife took a refuge to Herentals. When I was asked to record an r'n b song with reggae influences by muziekproductiehuis MRS records, I reworked Shame Shame Shame by Shirley & Company to "Dance Dance Dance" and got invited for the next "Jungle Tour" met Felice, Loes Van Den Heuvel en some lesser known local stars. But after the first recording day I came home and found my frontdoor splintered, with a note from the police: "A burglary took place in your house, please contact the local police station". In five minutes the youth gang went thru my galery and studio like a wirlwind. I just wanted to get away there.
